"old recliners" video c/o my friend emma's iphone

have you heard of role model? people’s magazine sexiest musician runner-up?

i’ve seen tucker in concert four times now. i love seeing artists at smaller venues—the intimate feel of a show with less production but an artist who still has amazing stage presence just keeps you in the moment.

i’ve been listening to role model for about five years now. i used to watch his livestreams when he’d go out for coffee and just talk to fans on instagram. he has the best sense of humor. honestly, i think we’d be friends IRL. he’s really taken off recently, and i have a feeling i won’t be seeing him in these smaller venues for much longer.

his latest album, kansas anymore, surprised me. sometimes indie music leans heavily on production and less on the vocals, but lately, i’ve noticed more artists stripping things down. way less production, way more emotion. everything on this album feels so genuine—like you’re hearing tucker’s story straight from him.

my top picks from the album: frances, old recliners, sally, and look at that woman. but honestly, it’s a no-skip album.

i got my ticket for this show last minute, and it was so worth it. i can’t wait to see where role model goes next!
